1. Who we are

Chef Teey (“we,” “us”) runs chefteey.com, the Chef Teey Cooking Club, and private chef, class, and event services in New Jersey. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It works together with our Terms of Service.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

• Contact and booking details: your name, email, phone number, event address, date, guest count, dietary needs, allergies, and anything you write in a message or quote request.
• Account details: your name, email, and password (stored in scrambled form we cannot read).
• Member activity: your shopping list, saved meals, questions for Chef Teey, poll answers, class attendance, and badges, so the club works for you.
• Class chat and recordings: live sessions may be recorded. Members never appear on camera, but questions and comments you post in the class chat, with the name shown in the chat, may be read aloud and may appear in the recording.
• Payment details: handled by Stripe. We receive only limited information such as your name, billing ZIP code, card brand, last four digits, and payment history.

Information collected automatically

• Device and usage details: your IP address, browser, device type, pages you visit, and how you found us.
• Security logs: login attempts and IP addresses, to protect accounts from break in attempts.
• Email details: whether our emails were delivered, so we know renewal reminders and receipts reached you.

Health related information

Allergies and dietary needs can reveal health information. We use them only to cook and plan safely for you, and only when you choose to tell us.

3. How we use it

• To run your membership, classes, meal plans, and account.
• To plan, cook for, and follow up on your booked events.
• To take payments, send receipts, and send renewal reminders.
• To answer your messages and questions.
• To send club updates and, if you allow it, news and offers. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time with the link in each email.
• To understand how the website is used and make it better.
• To use class recordings for quality, training, education, and promotion.
• To show our ads to people who may be interested, unless you opt out.
• To keep the website secure, prevent fraud, respond to payment disputes, and follow the law.

4. Cookies and tracking

Cookies are small files saved by your browser. We use:

• Essential cookies that keep you logged in, protect forms, and make checkout work.
• Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are helpful.
• Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram) to measure our ads and show them to people who visited our website.
• YouTube videos in privacy enhanced mode. A video only loads from YouTube after you press play.
• Embedded tools such as our contact and booking forms and Google reviews, which are loaded from those providers.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the website, such as logging in, will not work without essential cookies.

5. Who we share it with

We share information only with companies that help us run Chef Teey, and only what they need to do their job:

• Stripe for payments.
• Amazon Web Services for sending email.
• Namecheap for website hosting.
• Google for analytics, reviews, and video.
• Meta for advertising measurement.
• HighLevel (LeadConnector) and Elfsight for our contact and booking forms.
• MailerLite for our email newsletter and sign up forms.

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone’s safety, to respond to a payment dispute, or as part of selling or transferring the business.

6. Your privacy choices

Press the button to turn off ad tracking on this browser. We will stop loading the Meta Pixel and tell Google not to use your visits for ads. Your choice is saved in this browser, so repeat it on each device you use.

We also honor Global Privacy Control. If your browser or extension sends this signal, we treat it as a request to opt out, with no button needed.

7. Your rights

No matter where you live, you can ask us to:

• Tell you what personal information we have about you and give you a copy.
• Correct information that is wrong.
• Delete your information.
• Stop using your information for targeted advertising, sale, or profiling.

New Jersey residents have these rights under the New Jersey Data Privacy Act, and residents of other states may have similar rights under their own laws. To make a request, email contact@chefteey.com with the subject “Privacy Request.” We will confirm your identity, usually by replying to the email on your account, and answer within 45 days. We will not treat you differently for using your rights.

If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer with the word “Appeal.” If you are not satisfied with the result of your appeal, you may contact the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs.

We may keep some information when the law allows, for example payment records we must keep for taxes or to respond to a dispute.

8. How long we keep it

We keep account and member information while your account is open and for up to three years after it closes, in case you return or a question comes up. We keep payment and tax records as long as the law requires, usually seven years. Messages and quote requests are kept as long as they are useful for serving you. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or remove what identifies you.

9. Keeping it safe

We use secure connections (HTTPS), protected logins, limited access, and trusted providers to protect your information. No website can be perfectly secure, so please use a strong password that you do not use anywhere else. If we learn of a breach that affects you, we will notify you as the law requires.

10. Children

Our website and accounts are for adults. Kids classes are booked and managed by a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13, and we do not use information about anyone we know is under 18 for targeted advertising. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the date at the top of this page, and for important changes we will email active members.
